It’s been a super busy Monday! I was a guest speaker on my first filmed podcast this morning. It went pretty well I thought and I’ll share more details when it’s live. The rest of the day was prepping for a potential client meeting on Wednesday. My eyes are now square and I needed some garden time with Archie. (Closing my eyes to all the garden chores awaiting me 🫣😆)#caseyandfox #swinglifeaway #gardenswing #gardenchores #gingercatsrock
A rare chance to step inside Lesley Hilling’s studio as part of Camberwell Arts Festival. She is one of my all-time favourite artists, creating extraordinary sculptures from salvaged wood and found objects. Her work is intricate, architectural, provocative and completely full of story. This is the kind of art I love most. Not something that simply fills a wall, but work with substance, craft, tension and soul.➡️ Follow along for more artists, interiors and beautifully unusual things worth knowing about.#LesleyHilling #CamberwellArtsFestival #caseyandfox #LondonArtists #BritishArtist
Last week I shared a video of bumblebees enjoying a Salvia in a neighbour’s garden and so many of you seemed to enjoy it that I thought I’d share another pollinator favourite that’s actually in my own front garden.Lavender is one of the hardest-working plants in the garden. It looks good for months, smells wonderful, copes well in a sunny spot with minimal watering and, judging by the queue of bumblebees here, provides a pretty decent lunch stop too.If you’re trying to create a garden that is attractive, low maintenance and helpful to wildlife, lavender is a great place to start. What’s your favourite bee-friendly plant?🪻Grab my best Garden and Interiors Tips ⬆️ Link in Bio 😁#GardenDesign

Your home shouldn’t look like everyone else’s.A few pieces that caught my eye at the recent Spring Decorative Fair in Battersea, because art, antiques, lighting, colour and texture are often the things that stop a room feeling flat. One client once said that working with me opened up “possibilities we would never have discovered” and that is still one of my favourite ways to describe what good design advice can do.It isn’t about filling your home with expensive things. It’s about knowing what to look for, what will work together, and where a room needs more character, more warmth or a bit more nerve.Would you like a designer in your pocket for a couple of hours to you help brainstorm a room in your home? You’ll find more information about the Design Hotline through the link in my bio.#DesignHotline

It’s absolutely pouring with much-needed rain in my neck of the woods today.Archie went out adventuring earlier and came back absolutely soaked. He then yowled the place down until I dried him off. Honestly, this boy is far more delicate than he’d like everyone to believe.Last week, while feeding my neighbour’s kitty, I walked past another neighbour’s front garden and had to stop for a moment. There must have been 30 or more bumblebees feasting on this beautiful purple salvia. It reminded me that some of the best garden plants are often the hardest-working.If you’ve got a sunny spot that tends to dry out in summer, consider:🌿 Salvia
🌿 Lavender
🌿 Baby SageAll three provide long-lasting colour, cope well with drier conditions once established, and are absolute magnets for bees and other pollinators.A garden doesn’t have to be high maintenance to be beautiful or wildlife-friendly.If you’d like the sort of practical home and garden advice I normally share with my clients, you can join the Casey & Fox newsletter by commenting BUMBLEBEE in the comments below.#CaseyAndFox

What a brilliant afternoon celebrating the launch of Boodl Accounting’s new financial coaching programme.Susan Rahman is one of those women who quietly makes you think, “Right, I need to up my game.” Clever, generous, funny, wildly capable, and clearly very loved by the room she brought together. There was business wisdom, family stories, a room full of brilliant women, a very fabulous flamenco lesson from Danielle of Flamenco con Gusto, and a much-needed catch-up with Claire Harrison from West Nine Design and Julie Eltham from Athena Wimbledon. All at the Hollywood Arms in Chelsea.Honestly, not a bad way to spend a day.Huge congratulations Susan. I can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes you.#FinancialCoaching #WomenInBusiness #caseyandfox #FemaleFounders #NetworkingDoneRight
I once removed a bathroom from a family home.Which does sound a little questionable, I appreciate that. This Belsize Park basement apartment had three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a busy family of five living in it. On paper, plenty of space. In real life, not enough of the right space. The issue driving everyone mad was laundry. Constant washing, airers everywhere, and no proper place for it all to land.So we turned the family bathroom into a utility room, then redesigned the remaining bathrooms so they worked much harder. It was not the obvious decision, but it was the right one.And this is where good design earns its keep. Not in adding more for the sake of it, but in understanding what the home actually needs. Before you commit to a layout, ask yourself:Is this room earning its keep?Or are you keeping it because it is already there, because it looks good on the floor plan, or because everyone assumes more rooms must mean more value?Sometimes the best design decision is the one that looks slightly mad until you properly interrogate the way the home needs to function. And that is why experienced design advice can be so useful before the expensive decisions are made.#LondonInteriorDesigner #HomeRefurbishment #BathroomDesign #UtilityRoom #caseyandfox CaseyAndFox
This morning we were woken up by what honestly sounded like a car driving into the front of the house.Adrian shot downstairs. I followed shortly after, bracing for impact. It wasn’t a car.It was the glass shelves in our crockery cupboard collapsing… and taking everything with them.Plates, bowls, glasses, the lot. All over the kitchen floor.Three and a half years of “this seems absolutely fine” and then, quite suddenly, not fine at all.We didn’t design this kitchen, it came with the house, and I have never once questioned those shelves. They were toughened glass. They looked solid. Everything sat there perfectly happily. Until it didn’t.25 years of crockery gone! My lovely ‘good’ Villeroy & Boch plates and platters now shattered! 😢So, a small but important note from someone now sweeping up the aftermath:if you have glass shelving holding anything heavy, please PLEASE check the fixings. Ours were plastic. Which, in hindsight, maybe we should have thought about. But who does right?Metal fixings. Always.Anyway. If anyone knows whether this is something contents insurance will entertain, I’m all ears. And please tell me we’re not alone…

There is a street in Notting Hill where all the wee houses are painted different colours. And I think there was a story some time back about a lady in Bath (?) who painted her front door Barbie pink and the neighbours objected.I live in an area with wonderful 1930 architecture and most of the front doors are beautiful original carved wood. Seriously drool worthy.Sadly I suspect, pink would be the fast track to getting me removed off the street WhatsApp group. 🫣😂#caseyandfox #pinkdoor
Ok mucking around with AI makes this far too easy. Not sure about the yellow…#yellowfrontdoor #yellowlove💛 #caseyandfox
Most people don’t book a Design Hotline because they want a “fun design chat.”They book it because something in their home is driving them quietly mad.A layout that doesn’t work no matter how many times you move the furniture.A paint colour that looked lovely on Pinterest and absolutely awful on your actual wall.A room that feels unfinished and meh… and you cannot work out why.Or the classic… two people, one room, zero agreement. This is the point where homeowners usually start impulse-buying things:sofas, side tables, floor lamps, anything on sale really…hoping the right purchase will magically fix the problem. It won’t.But a proper conversation will. That’s what the Design Hotline is for.One hour. One space.Clear answers instead of expensive guessing. If there’s a room in your home that’s been annoying you for months…👆the link is in my profile.

Last Thursday I swapped floor plans and lighting layouts for black tie and fairy lights at The ABBBA Awards @theabbbas, supporting my fellow Bromley Business Network members, many of whom were finalists on the night. The room was full of brilliant local businesses and some very special people:✨ Huge congratulations to Mercedes Yearly of Quest Soul Theatre, who took home two awards. Such a well deserved win.
✨ Chandra Sharma for winning Business Personality of the Year. Nobody works a room quite like Chandra.
✨ Bayo Igho of @bigohcoaching, who was the most fantastic MC and kept the whole evening flowing.
✨ Lauretta Wright of Life In Magazines, the founder and organiser of The ABBBA Awards.
✨ Susan Wright, whose legendary behind the scenes logistics kept everything running like clockwork.Lovely to also see Leigh Bennett of EJJB Consulting, Joanne Bennett of The Chartwell Cancer Trust, Faye Cox and Frances Lamberth there too.And a special mention to my brilliant tablemates, Sean and Jonathan from Optimise Accountants and Jenni Farrow of Farrow Home Staging. Fantastic company. Sorry I was so tired.Nights like this remind me of how strong, kind and hard working the local business community is. Very proud to be part of it.📸 A few highlights from the evening.

e been a bit quiet on here and wanted to share why. A few weeks ago life came at me with full force and I’ve been juggling more than I ever expected. My lovely father-in-law passed away at 88. A great age, but still heartbreaking. My beautiful mother-in-law has been in hospital for a month with meningitis and is still very unwell. My own mum has had some health issues too.So yes… it has been a lot. And social media has been right at the bottom of the list while I’ve tried to put one foot in front of the other. I genuinely don’t know how some people keep showing up every day. Huge respect to them. This is simply my reality at the moment. But I know this is a phase. I know things will get better. I’m a glass half full girl at heart, even when my focus has left the building. If you’ve ever fallen off the wagon with life or work or focus, tell me how you got back on. Seriously… send me your best tips. I would love to hear them. Thanks for being here. 💛
